Description

Quiet and cosy living in a side street of the Mechelen Vesten, a stone's throw from the centre. On foot to Cinema Lumière, shops, restaurants or Nekkerspoel station, but also the lovely green Mechels Broek and always parking in the street - city life at its best.

This lovely house has all the beauty and charm you would expect from a 1932 bourgeois home, plus plenty of contemporary comforts, as this place received a total renovation in 2010. Of course, the original wooden staircase, interior doors, moulures and plancher floors were kept as much as possible.

You enter the classically laid-out house via the ground floor: entrance hall with wardrobe, toilet, to the left the cosy sitting area and then the office with a large built-in cupboard. Further on, you enter the funky red kitchen - a cheerful eye-catcher! - with the sunny dining area behind it. Natural daylight streams in via two gigantic skylights above the kitchen and the large sliding window to the fun, south-east-facing city terrace with handy cupboard for small garden tools and even space for two racing bikes. Basement.

The first floor has a stylish bedroom at the front and the bathroom at the back with double, bowl-shaped sinks and a spacious walk-in shower. For the second bedroom (currently desk/music room), pull up to the second floor with a large window between staircase and room as a nice detail. Again, huge storage space thanks to the fully built-in wardrobe.

The perfect townhouse for starters or compact family.

owner speaks out

We have always lived here with immense pleasure. Especially the great location, so close to the centre of Mechelen, is a huge asset. For a fun night out, we only have to walk to Cinema Lumière, the Grote Markt or the Vismarkt, perfect for a drink or dinner. Really nice to be able to enjoy all the advantages of the city so easily!
In addition, from our house you are also quickly in nature for a nice walk, such as the beautiful Mechels Broek. The nice little park around the corner is ideal for a relaxing afternoon. Because we are close to the cycle path, you can also cycle or jog to the Vlietjes. And if you also know that even the station is just around the corner, with regular train connections to both Antwerp and Brussels, then you realise what a prime location this is. Commuting becomes very convenient. That golden combination of city, nature and easy connections is irreplaceable'.
