Description

This part of Van Stralenstraat is a bicycle street that ends in a cul de sac, through which only cyclists and pedestrians are allowed. Close to Central Station, Opera and the city centre, with the cool Cornichon coffee bar on the corner, the beautiful Permeke library and the renovated Permekeplein, you are in the middle of a lively neighbourhood where there is always something to do.

The fresh white façade with black accents has only just been painted. You enter via the beautiful marble entrance hall or the garage - a great asset, in the heart of the city. Behind it is the large living kitchen (2011) with XL cooking island, great Falcon cooker and cosy seating area. Not one but two skylights provide natural daylight in abundance here. Finally, you will also find a handy storage room and separate toilet on this floor. Outside, the sunny city garden and covered terrace await your garden parties or playing children.

The mezzanine comprises a bedroom and shower room. On the first floor, you enter the super-classy living space, with lovely gas fireplace and cleverly preserved authentic elements, such as the original moulures and wooden floors. The master bedroom with spacious, modern bathroom and dressing room can be found on the second floor. The third and top floor houses two more very charming children's bedrooms. Everywhere you look, you will discover a successful blend between the original architecture and modern comfort, with the indoor garage and spacious living area as giga bonuses.

A fantastic base for city lovers pure and simple!

Kirsten & Sebastian,

owner speaks out

We bought this lovely house in 2013. We spent nine beautiful years here and have always super loved living here. Whatever you want to do - soak up culture, eat out, go to the library, away by train, to the library, zoo, Scheldt, Meir or a park ... - you're close to everything here. Now the time was right to move out of town, but we look back on our (almost) ‘decade in ’t Stad with a lot of nostalgia.
